Three recent Majlis Perbandaran Taiping procurement notices point to possible visitor-area changes around Taiping.

What has been proposed at Bukit Larut
The MPT notice covers maintenance and upgrading of the guardhouse building, the jeep waiting area and landscaping at the Bukit Larut foothill, together with related works. The quotation opened on 1 September 2026 and closes at noon on 7 September 2026.
For visitors, the most relevant part is the jeep waiting area. Access to Bukit Larut has long depended heavily on the foothill transfer and jeep arrangement, so improvements there could make the arrival and waiting experience more orderly if the works proceed.
A proposed floating jetty at Zoo Taiping & Night Safari
A separate MPT quotation calls for a proposed pontoon floating jetty at Zoo Taiping & Night Safari. The public notice does not yet state when construction would begin, when the jetty would open, or exactly how it would be used.
New 9 September notice: six proposed food shops on Jalan Air Terjun
MPT published a quotation on 9 September 2026 for the proposed construction and completion of six single-storey food-shop units at Lot 1937, Jalan Air Terjun, Mukim Taiping. The quotation closes at 12:00 noon on 21 September 2026.
For visitors, the key point is that this is still a procurement-stage proposal, not a food destination that is already open.
