Key dates for runners and visitors
The current official event schedule shows race check-in and the expo at Dataran Warisan on Thursday 10 September from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. On Friday 11 September, the expo runs 10:00 AM–7:30 PM, race check-in 10:00 AM–10:00 PM, and the MYKIDS race is scheduled for 4:00 PM. The organiser’s pre-race information also states that there is no race-morning check-in for any distance, so runners should collect their race packs during the published check-in windows.
Saturday 12 September is the main race day. The event schedule lists MY100 at 3:00 AM, MY50 at 5:00 AM, MY25 at 7:00 AM and MY13 at 8:00 AM. Sunday 13 September includes age-group prize collection, medal engraving, the last MY100 finisher celebration and overall prize giving at Dataran Warisan.
Important: official pages disagree on two start locations
As checked on 7 September, the organiser’s Event Schedule lists MY100 and MYKIDS as starting on Jalan Kota. However, the organiser homepage and race overview currently show Esplanade Taiping for MY100 and MYKIDS. The dedicated MY100 race page also shows Esplanade Taiping, while the Event Schedule shows Jalan Kota.
Runners should not rely on a single page for the final start point. Recheck the Event Schedule, runner communications and the event information desk before race day. For visitors and spectators, the practical takeaway is simpler: expect Jalan Kota, Dataran Warisan and the nearby Esplanade area to be busier than usual during event weekend.

Expo, parking and road-closure status
The event expo is at Dataran Warisan: 2:00 PM–6:00 PM on 10 September, 10:00 AM–7:30 PM on 11 September and 10:00 AM–6:00 PM on 12 September. The organiser says free parking is available around Dataran Warisan for runners, spectators and support crews. For supporters heading to the Changkat Ibol aid station used by MY50 and MY100, an official Saturday shuttle is listed at RM60 excluding platform fees. The first bus leaves the Race Expo at Dataran Warisan at 5:00 AM and the last return from Changkat Ibol is listed for 9:00 PM. Tickets are limited and can be bought during registration, through the post-registration dashboard or at the Race Expo information counter; the same-day wristband allows multiple rides during operating hours.
The official Road & Track Closures page still says that 2026 changed-traffic details will be updated soon. No specific road closure should therefore be assumed from an old post or social message. Check the organiser’s closure page again close to your visit.
Why this race feels very Taiping
The longer courses combine old-town streets with the forest and hills around Bukit Larut. The MY50 organiser page describes a route through Taiping Lake Gardens and the forested paths around Maxwell Hill. The MY100 is listed at 97.7 km with 4,802 m of elevation gain, while the MY50 is 54.5 km with 1,977 m of climbing.
For spectators and old-town guests
With race activity concentrated around Jalan Kota and Dataran Warisan, walking is likely to be simpler than driving for short old-town trips where practical. Keep extra time for traffic and do not plan a tight transfer across the town centre until the organiser publishes final changed-traffic information.
Staying on Jalan Kota
Sojourn Beds & Cafe is at 54 Jalan Kota, close to the old-town event area. If you are planning the race weekend, see our Things to Do in Taiping guide, check rooms and rates, or send a Book Direct advance stay enquiry. An advance enquiry is non-binding and does not reserve, hold or guarantee a room or date until Sojourn checks availability and confirms it.
