A Taiping run worth putting on the calendar: Larian Hari Perbandaran Taiping 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, 26 September at Dataran Warisan, with a 7:30 AM start and a 5 km distance. The official Howei registration page is now marked CLOSED, so this guide is mainly for registered participants, supporters and visitors planning race morning.

Confirmed race details
- Date: Saturday, 26 September 2026
- Start time listed by Howei: 7:30 AM
- Venue: Dataran Warisan, Taiping
- Distance: 5 km
- Organiser listed by Howei: Biro berbasikal dan Rekreasi
- Registration status checked 18 September: CLOSED
Howei displays 55 in the event fee field. Its summary shows 25 August as the closing date, while the descriptive text says registration closes on 26 August or when slots are filled. Because registration is already closed, prospective participants should not assume that a late entry is available.
What registered runners should still check
The public Howei page confirms the date, start time, venue and distance, but it does not currently publish a detailed route, cut-off time, parking plan, road-closure notice or race-pack collection timetable. Registered runners should use the organiser’s latest message for those operational details rather than relying on generic running-event advice or an old social-media repost.
For weather, check MET Malaysia close to race day rather than treating a long-range forecast as race-day certainty. Taiping conditions can change, and any organiser safety instruction should take priority.
Planning an early Taiping stay
A 7:30 AM start makes an overnight stay in Taiping practical for runners coming from outside town. Sojourn Beds & Cafe is at 54 Jalan Kota in the old-town core; it is not the race venue, so runners should arrange their own transport to Dataran Warisan and allow enough time for any organiser check-in instructions.
An advance enquiry is non-binding and does not reserve, hold or guarantee a room or date until Sojourn checks availability and confirms it.
