Batik Run 2026 is listed for Sunday, 1 November 2026 at AEON Mall Taiping. Both Howei and JomRun list a 7:00 am event time; JomRun additionally states a 7:30 am flag-off. These can describe assembly and race start rather than a contradiction, but entrants should confirm the final participant instructions.

Original 1200 × 628 editorial illustration prepared for Sojourn’s independent visitor guide. This is not an official Batik Run poster or a photograph of the event. What the registration pages actually say
Howei lists a 5 km Batik Run at AEON Mall Taiping, with Oriental Global Event Management named as organiser and displayed registration tiers of RM34.90 and RM39.90. JomRun lists an event T-shirt and finisher medal, a 7:30 am flag-off, and an online registration end time of 11:59 pm on 31 October. Prices, places and eligibility can change; check the live registration page before paying.
Race pack, access and other Sunday events
JomRun currently marks race-pack collection date, time and venue as to be confirmed. Neither registration page establishes an exact course map, spectator zone, parking arrangement or road closure notice. Also on Sunday, 1 November, the separately organised TM80 Heritage Run is listed at Muzium Telegraf Taiping. If driving between either venue, allow for potential morning event traffic without assuming any particular road is closed.
Planning a visit to Taiping
For runners arriving from outside Taiping, check the latest organiser briefing and transport arrangements before making accommodation commitments. Visitors interested in the event can also browse Taiping town before or after the run, but event registration and room availability are independent. Sojourn offers rooms and accepts direct advance enquiries, subject to confirmation.

READ →: Pusaka Larut Fun Run 2026 in Taiping — 31 October Visitor Guide and Start-Time WarningPusaka Larut Fun Run 2026 in Taiping — 31 October Visitor Guide and Start-Time Warning
A 5 km heritage-themed fun run is listed for Saturday, 31 October 2026 at Dataran Warisan, Taiping. The registration calendar gives a 7:00 am start, but one syndicated listing displays 11:00 pm. If you plan to take part or watch, check the organiser’s latest instructions before travelling.
The confirmed listing
- Event: Pusaka Larut 2026 Fun Run; 5 km, with a heritage theme.
- Date: Saturday, 31 October 2026.
- Venue: Perkarangan Dataran Warisan, Taiping, as listed by Howei and the TSR Events announcement.
- Start: Howei lists 7:00 am. Confirm race-day reporting and assembly times separately.
- TSR Events’ public notice advertises RM55 registration, a themed shirt, a medal and a heritage-dress prize. Availability and final entitlements should be checked with the organiser.
Why the published times disagree
Howei’s event calendar and registration listing both show 7:00 am on 31 October. StayHappening, reproducing material attributed to TSR Events, labels the event 11:00 pm on the same date even though its description does not establish a night start. These are different published listings, not proof that the organiser changed the starting time. The practical working reference is Howei’s 7:00 am entry; reconfirm directly before leaving, especially if travelling to Taiping for the run.
Heritage, not just kilometres
The organiser’s publicity stresses Larut heritage and includes a best heritage-dress prize. That gives this run a different character from a standard timed road race: some people may come as much for the clothing, photographs and local atmosphere as for the five kilometres. The published description does not establish the exact running route, spectator area or road restrictions. Do not assume streets are closed or accessible until a current route map is released.
Before travelling to Dataran Warisan
Check the latest TSR Events or Howei notice for start and assembly times, registration status, kit collection, access and parking. The public materials checked do not establish those remaining details reliably. If you are visiting rather than running, the heritage-square area is in central Taiping, but allow for possible event-day congestion without assuming any particular road closure.
Planning a Taiping stay
If the 31 October fun run is part of a Taiping weekend, compare accommodation before making the trip. Sojourn Beds & Cafe has rooms in Taiping and accepts direct advance enquiries; accommodation availability is separate from event registration.

READ →: Selama Rafting International 2026: Official Dates Conflict — 23–25 October vs 30 October–1 NovemberSelama Rafting International 2026 — Official Dates Conflict: 23–25 October vs 30 October–1 November
Selama Rafting International is a genuine visitor-relevant Perak event, but travellers should not rely on a single published date. An earlier 2026 tourism calendar lists 23–25 October, names Tourism Perak as organiser and gives Hub Eko as the venue. The current Malaysia.travel 2026 calendar lists 30 October–1 November and names Majlis Daerah Selama as organiser. The event itself is defensible; the published 2026 details are not fully aligned.
Two official calendars, two different weekends
The discrepancy is material for anyone planning a trip. The earlier listing says 23–25 October and identifies Tourism Perak and Hub Eko. The current national tourism calendar says 30 October–1 November and identifies Majlis Daerah Selama. Rather than silently choosing one, visitors should treat the difference itself as important travel information and check the latest organiser or official notice before setting out.
What is confirmed
- Selama Rafting International is a genuine Perak event and is named in Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry parliamentary material among Perak events associated with Visit Malaysia 2026.
- The earlier 2026 calendar lists 23–25 October, Tourism Perak and Hub Eko.
- The current Malaysia.travel 2026 calendar lists 30 October–1 November and Majlis Daerah Selama.
- Current 2026 public hours, admission, registration availability, parking arrangements and detailed programme have not been defensibly established from the sources checked, so they should not be guessed.
Why Selama is worth watching
Selama has an established rafting identity rather than a one-off invented theme. International rafting records show previous competition activity in Hulu Selama, and earlier Perak reporting places rafting activity around the Hub Ekopelancongan area. That background makes the 2026 event credible even while the current dates need checking. For visitors already considering Taiping and northern Perak, it is the sort of specialist outdoor event that can justify extending a trip when the final organiser notice is clear.
Before you travel
If Selama Rafting International is the main reason for your journey, verify the latest Majlis Daerah Selama, Tourism Perak or Malaysia.travel notice before departure. Do not assume the earlier weekend, venue detail or programme is still current. If your wider Perak trip also includes Taiping, the town remains a practical stop before or after a Selama visit without needing the rafting event to be the only purpose of the journey.
A direct enquiry is non-binding and does not reserve, hold or guarantee a room or date until Sojourn confirms availability.

READ →: Lenggong Outdoor Festival 2026: Official Dates Conflict — 3–5 October vs 24–26 JulyLenggong Outdoor Festival 2026 — Official Dates Conflict: 3–5 October vs 24–26 July
Thinking of driving to Lenggong this weekend? Check before you leave. Tourism Malaysia’s published Calendar of Events 2026 lists Lenggong Outdoor Festival for 3–5 October at Tasik Raban, with LOCCO and Majlis Daerah Lenggong as organisers. But Tourism Malaysia’s current event page and Tourism Perak’s current event listing both place the 2026 festival on 24–26 July at Resort Tasik Raban — dates that have already passed. As of 2 October, the official sources do not agree.
Why this is worth flagging
The October listing is not an anonymous repost. It appears in Tourism Malaysia’s national 2026 calendar and names the same venue and organisers associated with the festival. At the same time, Tourism Perak now marks the July edition as a past event, and Malaysia.travel’s dedicated festival page also shows 24–26 July. That makes the discrepancy relevant to real travel planning rather than a minor typo hidden on an old blog.
What is safe to say
- Lenggong Outdoor Festival is a genuine recurring outdoor event in Lenggong, Perak.
- Tourism Malaysia’s 2026 calendar says 3–5 October at Tasik Raban.
- Tourism Malaysia’s current event page and Tourism Perak say 24–26 July at Resort Tasik Raban.
- No October admission, registration, daily programme or confirmed start time should be assumed from the conflicting listings.
If you were planning to go this weekend
Do not cancel the idea merely because the listings conflict, but do not make the drive on the calendar entry alone either. Check the organiser’s latest Outdoor Festival channels before departure. If an October staging is confirmed, Tasik Raban and Lenggong are exactly the sort of outdoor-and-heritage combination that makes the festival interesting. If not, Lenggong remains worth visiting — just not on the assumption that a festival programme is waiting there.
A direct enquiry is non-binding and does not reserve, hold or guarantee a room or date until Sojourn confirms availability.

READ →: Fiesta Loma Gerik 2026: Ikan Loma, Raft Racing and Conflicting October DatesFiesta Loma Gerik 2026 — Ikan Loma, Raft Racing and Conflicting October Dates
Fiesta Loma is one of the more unusual Perak events worth knowing about. It grows out of the seasonal upstream movement of ikan loma in Sungai Rui near Gerik, and the festival has developed around that natural event with community, cultural, recreational and economic activities. Tourism Perak currently lists the 2026 edition for 2–4 October at Dataran Loma, Kuala Rui, Gerik, while Majlis Daerah Gerik posted a September announcement opening registration for the 2026 raft competition. There is, however, another date problem visitors should know about.
Tourism Perak says 2–4 October; Tourism Malaysia’s calendar says 9–11 October
Tourism Perak’s live event listing places Fiesta Loma from Friday 2 October to Sunday 4 October 2026. The official Majlis Daerah Gerik website also shows a fresh 3 September announcement for the 2026 raft competition, which supports the fact that this year’s Fiesta Loma is active. But Tourism Malaysia’s published 2026 calendar currently lists Loma Fiesta for 9–11 October with Majlis Daerah Gerik as organiser. The event is real; the date information is not fully aligned.
What makes Fiesta Loma interesting
This is not merely another generic fair. The event is tied to the annual movement of ikan loma in Sungai Rui, a local river phenomenon normally associated with the September–November period. Reporting on the 2025 edition described the festival as a way to celebrate the river ecosystem while bringing together cultural, recreational and small-business activity. It also reported raft competition, local traders and participation centred around Kampung Jong and Dataran Loma. Those details describe the character of Fiesta Loma, but should not be treated as the final 2026 programme unless this year’s organiser materials confirm them.
Visitor advice
If Fiesta Loma is the main reason for your trip, verify the latest Majlis Daerah Gerik or Tourism Perak notice before setting out. Do not assume admission, raft-registration availability, parking arrangements or the full activity programme from older editions. If you are travelling through Taiping and Upper Perak more broadly, Gerik remains a distinctive stop for river, forest and outdoor-country scenery even when a festival timetable changes.
A direct enquiry is non-binding and does not reserve, hold or guarantee a room or date until Sojourn confirms availability.

READ →: Taiping Bird Week 2026: 17–18 October Dates Confirmed, Programme Still PendingTaiping Bird Week 2026 — 17–18 October Dates Confirmed, Programme Still Pending
Taiping Bird Week 26 is listed in Tourism Malaysia's 2026 Calendar of Events for 17–18 October 2026 in Taiping, Perak, with Tourism Perak named as organiser. That much is useful and defensible. What is not yet safe to assume is the exact 2026 venue, daily hours, admission, registration or activity programme. We have not found a current detailed organiser page confirming those items, so visitors should treat this as a date notice rather than a complete programme.
What is confirmed for 2026
- Event — Taiping Bird Week 26.
- Dates — Saturday and Sunday, 17–18 October 2026.
- Location — Taiping, Perak.
- Organiser listed by Tourism Malaysia — Tourism Perak.
Do not copy last year's programme into 2026
Tourism Perak's official 2025 listing placed that edition at Zoo Taiping & Night Safari and promoted activities including a Bird Race, Photo Run and Hornbill Fun Walk. Those details are useful context because they show what Bird Week has looked like before, but they are not confirmation for 2026. Until Tourism Perak publishes the current programme, this page will not claim that the same venue or activities are returning.
What visitors can do now
If you are already considering a Taiping weekend in mid-October, the confirmed dates are enough to keep 17–18 October in view. They are not enough to plan around a particular walk, race, talk, ticket or venue. Check Tourism Perak again before travelling for Bird Week specifically. A Taiping stay can still be combined with the Lake Gardens, the zoo area and the old town, but those are general Taiping attractions rather than a claim about the 2026 Bird Week programme.
A direct advance enquiry is non-binding and does not reserve, hold or guarantee a room or date until Sojourn checks availability and confirms it.

READ →: Heritage Ride Taiping 2026: 25 October Visitor & Spectator GuideHeritage Ride Taiping 2026 — 25 October Visitor & Spectator Guide
The Heritage Ride Taiping 2026 is set for Sunday, 25 October, with the event starting at 7:00 am from Dataran Warisan Taiping. The organisers have promoted 90 km and 60 km competitive rides plus a 20 km fun ride, while later route material may show slightly different mapped distances. For visitors who are not riding, the useful part is that Dataran Warisan is also planned as the event hub with food trucks, performances, booths and lucky-draw activities.
What is confirmed
- Date — Sunday, 25 October 2026.
- Start — 7:00 am.
- Venue — Dataran Warisan Taiping.
- Organisers — Kelab Berbasikal Elit with GoSportz Event.
Registration is not something to assume
The organiser’s indexed 60 km registration page now says it is no longer accepting entries, and earlier organiser-linked coverage stated that registration would close by 23 August or earlier if the quota was filled. If you are not already registered, do not travel to Taiping assuming a rider slot is still available. Check the current GoSportz event page directly before making any participation plan.
Useful for non-riders too
The Dataran Warisan programme is the part most relevant to families and ordinary visitors. Organiser-linked reports describe stage performances, food and exhibition stalls, food trucks and lucky draws at the square. No reliable source reviewed for this update states a general spectator admission fee, so this article does not claim that all activities are free. Individual food, merchandise or paid activities may still have their own charges.
Road access and parking
The event will put a large number of cyclists on roads around Taiping and the wider Larut, Matang and Selama area. At the time of this update, we have not found a current official traffic-closure or spectator-parking plan for 25 October. Drivers should therefore check GoSportz and Majlis Perbandaran Taiping again nearer the event date and allow extra time around Dataran Warisan in the early morning.
Staying in Taiping
If the ride is bringing your family or cycling group to town, staying in the old town makes it easy to combine the event with Taiping’s heritage streets, food and nearby attractions rather than treating the weekend as a single race morning.
A direct advance enquiry is non-binding and does not reserve, hold or guarantee a room or date until Sojourn checks availability and confirms it.
